Amelia Earhart is so much more than her final flight. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and the first person EVER to fly solo from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland. Did you know that she was the first woman to ever receive the honor of the Distinguished Flying Cross from Congress? Though her life was short, she accomplished so much that paved the way for women forever.
We often remember her as the pilot lost, but she is an inspiration to all to face your fears and do something courageous. The quote on the back of her Collector’s Card is my favorite - “Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others.
